Happy Friday, everyone.
Now let’s make some burgers this weekend, Dean Martin-style.

I’m freshly tattooed, and braving myself to ignore the people who disagree with it. Gotta get comfortable in my own skin, and this does help. steeling myself to be a better person.
I’ll post a better picture when it heals
Participated in my first adventure race this Saturday, what an awesome experience!!
Tom Brown has many more cool features than I thought - extensive mountain biking trails(SO FUN), gorgeous water features, and plenty of walking paths. Trevor, Ryan and I were team Arr We Tharr Yet, and we were actually recognized as the pirates we subtly dressed up as, even though the stripy shirts brought the question, “Are you prison escapees?” a couple of times.
Laurel and Nick were there with a bootcamp-themed mystery challenge, canoeing was difficult and tiring but fun, and the biking was the funnest to me. The main page estimated distances because I have no idea how far we went…
It was broken up by various checkpoints and challenges, so 3 hours and 12 minutes later, we were done! Exhausted, sweaty, and dirty but we conquered it!
Midtown that night was pretty fun too, it started out a little bit disorganized to to a late printing of the scavenger hunt passports, but once they were distributed we went all around midtown to get our quest completed. Cerese joined us for that too, and there was copious amounts of free beer, cupcakes, snow cones, mojito, airbrush tattoos, and laughing. We got our papers in just in time, too!
I can’t wait for this event to come back next year!
- You check your phone, because you have nothing to contribute to the conversation.
- Wait for the right time to say something, you get interrupted. Twice.
- Someone you vaguely know is walking in front of you. You maintain distance.
- Hold the door for some. They’re slightly too far away.
- Someone comes online, you say “hey”, they go offline.
- You go in for the high-five. Other person isn’t looking.
- Accidentally look someone in the eye. Pretend to look past them.
- You say something stupid. You play it down, but everyone sees your face going red.
- You say “hi” to someone. It comes out as a whisper.
- Your friends formed a circle while you were gone. You can’t fit and end up standing slightly askew.
- Waiting by yourself for friends. Pretend you’re texting.
- You tell a hilarious joke. Nobody laughs.
- You’re in class and you want to cough. Some other person just coughed, now you have to wait.
- Walk into the restrooms and the stalls are full; pretend you only came here to wash your hands then leave.
- The person in front is walking slightly slower than you are. You walk at an uncomfortable speed to get past them.

So I’m actually wondering if anyone even gets on tumblr anymore. Raise of hands if you’re actually reading what I write?
Anyways…I’m doing so much better now. Finally came to the realization that we do so much better as friends, and we’re getting along swimmingly. I am excited with my newfound ‘freedom’ in life as well - that’s not saying that I was ever ‘anchored down’ (thanks mom, way to be a bitch about it), but it’s nice being able to do whatever I want to do without asking permission/checking in/trying to hide it.
So my mood is awesome, I’m looking for an apartment for the end of April, and life is great. 2011 is getting better!
I need something to scream at.
Or an uninterrupted night to myself, knitting and watching something on the t.v.
I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
How can I make myself stop caring?
I put all my mushy feelings-things in a private post so that doesn’t need to be worried about.
I’ve had a pretty bad year so far.
it’s done.
